The American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE) and the TradeFair Group have announced the Business Conference tracks for RETECH 2010, a premier event for the renewable energy technology industry to be held February 3 - 5, 2010 at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
On the eve of a visit to Georgia to promote the White House's economic stimulus programs, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden announced a new push to try to jump-start the nation's sagging manufacturing sector and create new clean energy jobs.
Led by European utilities, the offshore wind industry is poised for substantial scaling over the next decade, with the global installed base expected to grow to nearly 45 GW in 2020 according to a new market study from Emerging Energy Research. With large northern European utilities driving the industry forward in the short term, the stage is being set for North America and Asia offshore development as well, according to EER.

Wells Fargo and SunPower Corp. announced that financing has been completed on the 1-megawatt solar power system recently commissioned at the University of California, Merced. SunPower financed the system with Wells Fargo through a $100 million sale leaseback financing program announced by the companies in June of this year.
LS Power announced that it is taking steps to develop the LaSalle Transmission Project (LaSalle), a new 345 kilovolt (kV) transmission project connecting Illinois and Indiana. The project is intended to facilitate renewable energy development within the region.
GE announced it has received a $1.4 billion contract from independent power producer Caithness Energy to supply wind turbines and provide services for an 845-megawatt (MW) wind farm project to be located in Oregon.
Trina Solar Limited, a leading integrated manufacturer of solar photovoltaic products from the production of ingots, wafers and cells to the assembly of PV modules, announced the recent inauguration of the largest rooftop solar system in Europe with a capacity of 40MW.
GDF SUEZ has completed construction and achieved commercial operation at Caribou Wind Park, located 70 kilometers northwest of Bathurst, New Brunswick. The largest wind operation in the province, the 99 MW facility will provide all of its power to New Brunswick Power to fulfill a 20-year power purchase agreement with the utility.
Progress Energy Carolinas has signed a contract with Advanced Green Technologies (AGT) in which AGT will build, own and operate a 1.27-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) array on the roof of a BSH Home Appliances warehouse in New Bern, N.C., and sell the output to the utility for distribution to its customers.
